DIY Nails: Salon Quality without the Salon Price

Since the origin of nail color around 3000 BC, we ladies have been trying on one new technique after another in an attempt to accomplish the coolest look on our fingertips. Luckily, today just about anything goes and what's even better is that it can cost next to nothing to keep up with this trend! Below you will find some tips and ideas that are sure to make you the envy of your gal pals...

1. Try out Sally Hansen's newest product called Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips. They are easy to apply, very forgiving and last about 10 days. Oh yeah, and you pay only $8.50 for the box (one application).

2. OPI Shatter is one of the coolest products out there right now. There are knock offs made by other brands but OPI is superior in my opinion. Black and Silver are the most versatile colors and are applied as a top coat over whatever color your little heart desires for whatever effect you want to flaunt. (Be sure to use a clear top coat to seal everthing or it will be gummy.) The best part...it costs only $8.50 for a full size bottle and will last longer than the trend will, I'm sure!

3. Glamour magazine placed a fantastic piece written by Amber Kallor in their August issue titled "Nailed It" and can still be found on Glamour.com. They give you six different ways to wear your nails that just take the tiniest bit of patience and a whole lot of creativity. Use these ideas and put your own spin on them to make them your own. Have fun with it...these can be done with all the nail colors that you already own so its price tag: nada!

So have a blast and let me know how it turns out! I love to hear from you all!
