Julep's Closet Countdown!

Only eleven days until Julep's Closet opens up! Here are the dates and times once again, as well as some new information about what to look forward to...

Dates and Times of the Sale
Friday, November 11 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm
Saturday, November 12 from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm
Sunday, November 13 from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm

Look Forward to...
  • Friday evening is what the Junior Leaguers call "Twice the Price" night. This means that everything is twice the price that is marked and although this may not sound like a great deal, the concept is that you will want to shop early since all the good stuff will go out the doors quickly. If you have ever participated in a garage sale, you know that people will line up waiting for you to open up so that they can have first dibs on the best goodies!
  • Saturday there will be various specials occurring throughout the day so you will want to check it out! What a great, inexpensive way to spend the day shopping with your girlfriends or use this as an opportunity for a mother/daughter bonding experience!
  • Sunday will present two different events that will help to wind things down on a high note. First, a half-price sale from 10:00 am until 1:30 pm and then from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm you will be able to participate in the bag sale! Not only can you look forward to these incredible deals, but there is also no cost to get into the sale on Sunday!
So remember, the cost to get into the sale on Friday and Saturday is $1.00 per person and the longer you wait, just like with any great sale, the bigger your chance of losing out on the best of the goods!

Stay posted for more information on the sale as I count down to Julep's Closet every weekday until November 11!

Hope to see you there!

Correction on Julep's Closet Hours

Oops...turns out I made a mistake on the hours that Julep's Closet will be open on November 11, 12 and 13.

Julep's Official Hours

Friday, November 11 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm
Saturday, November 12 from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm
Sunday, November 13 from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm

Sorry for any confusion! Hope to see you there!

Countdown to the 65th Annual Julep's Closet Begins!

Julep's Closet will occur two weeks from today and I intend to count down by posting something exciting about the event each day so this is my first of the series. In case you are unfamiliar, I would like to introduce you to what could be the most exciting event for bargain shoppers in the Peoria area!

A Little Background
Julep's Closet is an annual fundraising event for Junior League of Peoria that began in 1946 and all proceeds help to fund many of the League's community efforts all year long. It also happens to be the League's largest event that provides a majority of the dollars used to help local charities so to say that this is all for a good cause is an understatement!

What Bargain Shoppers Can Look Forward To
Anyone looking for a great deal will benefit from Julep's Closet and all it has to offer. Ladies can find anything from clothing, shoes and accessories to housewares, books and furniture. If you are like me, you will make a mad dash for the Boutique area where you will find new and gently used designer items and quality labels for a fraction of the cost you would pay elsewhere.

Men will appreciate new and gently used items such as tools and sporting goods, as well as clothing and shoes.

Children will love looking through the new and gently used toys for kiddos ranging in age from infants to school-aged and moms can choose from a great variety of clothing, shoes and accessories such as sippie cups, socks, booties and much more.

Location of the Sale
Peoria Riverplex
600 NE Water Street
Peoria, Illinois

Dates and Hours of the Sale
Friday, November 11 from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm

Cost
The cost to enter the sale is $1.00 per person on Friday and Saturday and there is no cost on Sunday. Beware of waiting until the last day though...the early bird definitely gets the worm here!

My Two Faves for Designer Items That I Can Afford

Happy October Ladies...
I know it's been awhile but I am back to share with you two sites that you absolutely MUST check out today! Thanks to Ideeli.com and Rue La La.com, I have been able to nearly finish my Christmas shopping without going over budget and without leaving my cozy abode.

Ideeli Rules!
By clicking on the link below, you can sign up to receive daily e-mails from the good folks at Ideeli. Each day new boutiques open up to bring you items from clothing and accessories for ladies, men and children to home decor and travel arrangements at "Ideal" prices that everyone can afford. If you are at all like me, you like to get a head start on your Christmas shopping and this is by far the best way to do it. You will find items that are just perfect for even those who are toughest to buy for and you will have the pleasure of staying within your budget. The only thing I will caution you on is that you can become addicted!!

Rue La La (It's even fun to say!)
Very much the same concept as Ideeli, Rue La La is also a very addictive site where there are tons of goodies to view every day. Click on the link below, plug in your e-mail address and create a password and you will be on your way to saving on great designer clothing and accessories, travel and home decor items that are very unique and perfect for anyone on your list (including the most important of them all...you!)

The coolest thing about Rue La La and what separates it from all the other sites is that once you make a purchase, shipping is free for 30 days! So you can order every day for an entire month and only pay a one-time shipping fee of $9.95! No kidding! Not to mention, your items are on your doorstep within a week or so! (Unlike Hauelook.com where your items might show up by the time you retire!) You cannot lose with this one, ladies!

So have fun with it this year instead of dreading Christmas shopping! Who knows, you may just have enough green left over to splurge where it counts most...on those who are less fortunate. (Just a suggestion.)
