Designer and Department Store Collaborations

For those of us who love and appreciate designer threads but just cannot part with the major moolah, collaborations are like a slice of heaven! I have written about the Missoni for Target line that was released last Tuesday (September 13) and there are others that either recently hit some of our favorite department stores or will be arriving soon. Don't miss out on these because they won't hang around for long and there are some crazy divas out there who will undoubtedly be lined up waiting for the doors to open!

Recently Released

• Jennifer Lopez for Kohl's (released September 2011)

Jennifer Lopez joins brands like LC by Lauren Conrad and Simply Vera by Vera Wang, all great mid-end clothing and accessories lines that you can find at Kohl's for reasonable prices.

      

• Kardashian Kollection for Sears (released August 25, 2011)

The Kardashian Sisters are one of the few celebrities/designers to ever collaborate with Sears.

• Christian Siriano for Payless (released September 7, 2011)

We all became familiar with the quirky and ultra-talented Christian Siriano on Season 4 of "Project Runway" and now we can literally take a walk in his shoes with this collaboration that is just as playful as he is! Get this...not one pair of these kicks in the Payless Collection is over sixty bucks and right now they are even on sale at www.payless.com

Upcoming Launch

• Versace for H & M (coming November 17, 2011)

It's true...this is not a typo or a sadistic trick...Versace will be adding a Fall line designed specifically for H & M junkies at prices somewhere in between the high end and low end. I know, not a big help but although we are not yet sure of the prices that this line will boast, we do know that this may be the only way we common folk will be able to carry a Versace label on our backs! Here is a tiny peek...

Missoni for Target In Stores and Online...Just Kidding!

Okay, so you all know that I was anticipating the release of Missoni for Target last Tuesday and I tried to post on that day but it was absolutely INSANE! Not only was Target's website completely bogged down and out of commission but by the time I got to Target in Peoria, every part of the store that was to house pieces of the newest line were completely ransacked! I had a list of items that were sure to be big hits inside my own closet doors only to find that when I arrived to pick them up, they were already extinct species! I was completely bummed and even more so when I talked to several ladies in the store who all told me that some crazy lady was waiting outside the locked doors before the employees even were to arrive. I stood no chance in comparison to her enthusiasm and preparedness! She bought three carts full of nothing but Missoni for Target with the intentions of selling them all on eBay! Not fair!

So you live and you learn and I know better for the next time that I must be more prepared...that is why I am giving you information for upcoming releases of designer collaborations in my next post. I'm not sure I will suggest that you become the crazy eBay lady who gives up her life to stand outside a closed retail store to rob the rest of us of our joy but at least you will be armed with details!
